About
I am a visual artist based in the Twin Cities, working at the intersection of art and science to inspire change through cultural exchange. My interdisciplinary practice includes drawing, printmaking, collage, zine-making, performance, and participatory projects such as walking and drawing tours.
Across these forms, I examine how perception shapes our understanding of environment and responsibility. I am particularly interested in the symbiotic relationship between humans and the ecosystems we inhabit: we depend on the ecosystem for survival, our actions, in turn, alter the system.
Alongside my studio practice, I work as a project manager in a plant genetic engineering laboratory at the University of Minnesota. This role gives me exposure to research addressing climate resilience and food systems, which informs my artistic inquiry. I am also an active community gardener and have served as a UMN Extension Master Gardener, experiences that ground my work in lived, local relationships with land and cultivation.
I hold an MFA in Printmaking from the Edinburgh College of Art (2011) and a BFA in Expanded Media from the University of Kansas (2008).
My work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
